Como Castello del Nero

What’s the hotel in a nutshell?

The Como Castello Del Nero, situated in the enchanting landscape of Chianti, Tuscany, is an ochre-coloured 12th-century estate which artfully blends centuries of aristocratic charm with modern Italian elegance. Overlooking vast expanses of cypress trees, hilltop villages and vine-clad rolling hills, this iconic property stands on a vast 740-acre plot, a stone’s throw from the village of Tavarnelle Val di Pesa. Occupying a prime location between Florence and Siena, it serves as an excellent launchpad for exploring Tuscany’s rich cultural tapestry.

What are the rooms like?

Each of the hotel’s 50 rooms, spread across the main castle, its annexes and courtyards, presents a unique character and design. Renowned designer Paola Navone has masterfully reimagined the interiors, replacing the erstwhile Tuscan palette with sophisticated hues of whites, greys and silvers, complemented by calming blues and flowing white drapes. Notable among these are the castle’s 16 rooms, some boasting 18th-century frescoes and timeless antiques. Modern indulgences like spacious marble bathrooms with tubs and in some cases, separate showers, make for a luxurious stay.
