The Mediterranean • Stay • The Standard in Ibiza, Spain
In the heart of Ibiza’s Old Town, a new six-story building has taken the place of an old movie theatre. The crisp white and streamlined exterior echoes the town’s whitewashed architecture and pays homage to the original Standard property in Los Angeles. The Standard Ibiza’s interior design celebrates the island’s grown-up groove with a nod to playful flower power spirit and the 60s modernism. Designed by Lázaro Rosa Violán and Carlos Ferrater, and with interiors by Oskar Kohnen Studio, the hotel opened in 2021 and has quickly become a hotspot for trendy urbanites and stylish vacationers.
The Standard Ibiza’s rooms offer guests a peaceful retreat from the bustling town. Decorated in a minimalist style with clean-lined interiors, the rooms feature muted colour palettes and minimal furniture, creating an atmosphere of understated elegance. Larger rooms and suites have deep soaking tubs and separate living areas, with Juliet balconies providing views of the main square. Guests can also opt for the private residence Casa Privada, which offers a rooftop pool, hot tubs and gym, making it a perfect spot for larger groups looking for more space and privacy.
