We love Marbella’s prime beachfront spot on the island’s southeast coast, set against a backdrop of lush gardens and the Ionian Sea. As part of the Mar-Bella Collection, this five-star retreat has been designed with different types of travellers in mind. Whether you’re bringing kids, your partner or just yourself, Marbella has the perfect room and amenities for you. The rooms are modern, with earthy tones and plenty of them come with private pools or sea views. You’ve got seven restaurants to choose from (yes, seven). You’re not stuck with the same buffet every night. They’ve got à la carte restaurants covering Greek, Italian and Pan-Asian, plus a decent wine list. There’s a splash park and kids’ club for families, but adults get their space too – an adults-only section, infinity pool, spa and yoga sessions with a view. The private beach has waiter service, which is exactly as nice as it sounds.

If your idea of a good holiday includes peace, sunshine and a bit of privacy, The Olivar Suites might be exactly your kind of place. The Olivar Suites sits on the east coast of Corfu, but it doesn’t feel like your typical beach resort. It used to be an old olive oil mill and the owners turned it into a contemporary hotel that’s calm, minimal and genuinely stylish, where the focus is on slowing down. All the suites are housed in low-rise stone buildings, scattered around a well-kept olive grove and most come with their own pool or garden. The design is clean and earthy, with tones that blend into the landscape. Interiors have a Scandinavian-meets-Mediterranean look, using a lot of wood, linen and natural textures. There’s one main restaurant, Flya, serving Mediterranean food that changes with the seasons and the Olibar lounge is a beach bar where you can sip a cocktail just a few steps from the sea.

Domes of Corfu sits on Glyfada Beach, a blue-flag stretch known for its fine sand and crystal waters. This Autograph Collection property, part of Marriott International, was redesigned in 2020 to bring fresh, modern style to a site that’s been a landmark since the Onassis family built Domes Miramare in the 1960s. Now, Domes of Corfu offers contemporary luxury with nods to that storied past. Here you’ll find open-plan, whitewashed suites with floor-to-ceiling windows, private terraces and plunge pools that look out over the sea and olive-dotted cliffs. Suites are designed to feel airy and uncluttered, drawing inspiration from traditional Ionian colours and textures. From dawn to dusk, we’re impressed by the property’s mix of dining options – four à la carte restaurants serving Mediterranean and Greek cuisine, food trucks providing casual bites and sunset bars where mixologists shake up cocktails using local ingredients like kumquat (orange-like citrus), a Corfiot speciality.

Set on the Kommeno Peninsula, Grecotel Eva Palace owes its roots to the visionary Greek hoteliers behind Grecotel, a family-owned hospitality group with over 50 years of history. This five-star resort is spread across cypress-lined gardens and olive groves, stretching down to a curved, Belle Époque–style beach with large white umbrellas and cushioned loungers. Inside, the rooms feature Murano crystal chandeliers, mother-of-pearl mosaic accents and bronze-hued tiles. The Elixir Spa on the rooftop features a hammam, massage suites and panoramic views of Corfu Town on the horizon. When it comes to dining, you can choose between four on-site restaurants and three bars, serving everything from gourmet Mediterranean buffets at Mediterraneo to Italian fine dining at La Contessa and sushi prepared by in-house chefs at Sushi & Sticks.

Ikos Dassia is a luxury all-inclusive 25-acre resort that sits on Dassia Bay with 600 metres of private white-sand beach and eight freshwater pools set among olive groves and pine trees. The resort’s architecture balances Corfiot neoclassical touches like soft pastel walls and elegant columns with sleek interiors that deliver an upscale yet unpretentious look and feel. What makes Ikos Dassia special is its Michelin-driven dine-out programme, which lets you enjoy gourmet meals at local tavernas in Dassia and Gouvia at no extra cost – an authentic way to taste Corfu’s flavours beyond the resort’s eight on-site restaurants. When you’re not lounging beachside with a cocktail or relaxing at the Ikos Spa by Anne Semonin Paris, there’s complimentary tennis, paddleboarding and mountain biking for some adventure.
