Hotel das Amoreiras

What’s the hotel in a nutshell?

Tucked away from the bustling tourist spots in Lisbon, Hotel das Amoreiras is a hidden gem in the Praça das Amoreiras. Once the square dedicated to silk makers, this boutique hotel is a labour of love for owners Pedro Oliveira and Alicia Valero, who abandoned their corporate careers to fulfil their dream of running a boutique hotel. Its 17 bedrooms and two suites overlook a serene garden square where mulberry trees are aplenty. The hotel’s classic elegance is reflected in its glossy bottle-green tiled façade, polished antique furniture and Oliveira’s private art collection. The interiors draw on the tones of the garden outside, with wicker furniture and richly woven fabrics. The stylish bar offers an impressive selection of whiskies, cocktails and sake while serving a delicious breakfast and tasty snacks.

What are the rooms like?

The rooms at Hotel das Amoreiras evoke the feeling of a tastefully decorated private residence. Oliveira and Valero have personally selected every piece of furnishing and décor, including bespoke pieces, to reflect their life abroad and personal tastes. The 17 rooms, spread over two floors, and two grand suites on the third-floor feature dreamy green, sand and beige hues. The suites offer breathtaking views of the nearby aqueduct, Amoreiras garden and reservoir – a view that other grander hotels can only dream of.
