The Mediterranean • Eat & drink • Sky’s the limit: Paris’s 5 ultimate rooftop restaurants and bars
Paris is a city that knows how to put on a show and sometimes, the best seats aren’t at street level. High above the boulevards and bustling terraces, the French capital’s rooftop restaurants and bars offer front-row views of a skyline that never gets old. From sleek, glass-walled lounges where the Eiffel Tower feels close enough to touch, to hidden garden terraces where cocktails come with a side of sunset, these spots redefine dining with a view. But in a city saturated with choices, not all rooftops are created equal and we’ve done the legwork to find Paris’s ultimate rooftop spots. So, if you want to sip champagne above the Seine, toast to the city lights or simply experience Paris from a different perspective, here’s where to go.

Set atop the Champs-Élysées, Mun is a moody, ultra-chic rooftop spot that fuses Parisian elegance with an Asian-inspired menu. With its dim lighting, plush velvet seating, sleek wooden panels and floor-to-ceiling windows framing the Arc de Triomphe, this spot is pure cinematic indulgence. The sushi and sashimi are impeccably fresh, but the real showstoppers are the crispy Peking duck and black cod in miso. Pair your meal with a signature cocktail – perhaps the Mun Mule, spiked with yuzu – and watch the city lights flicker below. Beyond the food and drinks, the location itself is a major draw. The restaurant offers sweeping views of iconic landmarks, including glimpses of the Eiffel Tower.

A sun-drenched oasis above Printemps Haussmann, Perruche offers what many describe as a verdant escape high above the Parisian streets. The space is lined with lush greenery, giving it the feel of a rooftop garden rather than a city terrace. The interior combines light wood, bright textiles and comfortable seating that evoke a Mediterranean spirit right in the heart of the city. The menu is inspired by Provençal cuisine – featuring dishes like grilled octopus, burrata with ripe tomatoes and a perfectly cooked côte de boeuf (bone-in ribeye steak). The cocktails are just as bright and refreshing, with plenty of citrus and herbal notes. When visiting Perruche you can expect a fashionable crowd, a golden-hour glow and a view stretching all the way to Montmartre.

If you’re after a rooftop with serious attitude, Bonnie delivers. Sitting atop the So/ Paris hotel in the Marais, this 16th-floor bar-restaurant is effortlessly cool, with a retro-futuristic design straight out of a 70s film. The interior, influenced by 1960s and 1970s Paris and New York, features artistic elements like Olafur Eliasson’s bay windows. Think mirrored ceilings, plush orange banquettes and a terrace that offers one of the most jaw-dropping panoramas in the city – hello, Seine and Eiffel Tower. The menu is French with a modern twist: caviar-topped eggs, truffle pasta and seared sea bass that melts in your mouth. The drinks are equally impressive with a well-curated wine list spotlighting French wines and signature cocktails served with flair.

For a glamorous dining experience with an unbeatable Eiffel Tower view, La Giraffe and its rooftop extension, La Suite Giraffe, are in a league of their own. Located in the Palais de Chaillot, La Giraffe is all about refined seafood – oysters, langoustines and buttery Dover sole served with impeccable finesse by chef Julien Chicoisne. Designed by architect Joseph Dirand, the interior reflects Art Deco elegance, featuring cream banquettes and a finely crafted marble bar – it’s luxurious in an understated way, keeping the focus on the twinkling tower beyond the terrace. Upstairs, La Suite Giraffe offers a more exclusive, lounge-like setting where champagne flows and soft French music drifts in the air.

Located inside the Madame Rêve Hotel, La Plume Rive Droite provides a truly distinctive culinary experience that bridges French and Japanese flavours. The array of dishes – from steamed edamame with yuzu sea salt and inventive tuna pizzetta with a touch of caviar to delicate wagyu gyozas (dumplings) – reflects chef Benjamin Six’s dedication to balanced flavours and artistic presentation. The ambience is intimate, with warm wooden accents, soft lighting and a terrace overlooking the historic rooftops of the 1st arrondissement. The panoramic views are a major draw, offering a unique vantage point of the city’s iconic skyline. In addition to the main dining area, La Plume also has a lounge area – the perfect spot to enjoy their signature Yokoso cocktail!
