Galerie Patrick Seguin Paris Ile-de-France design gallery review

01

Galerie Patrick Seguin

Established in 1989 by Patrick Seguin, Galerie Patrick Seguin, in Paris’s Bastille district spans a 300-square-metre space which is designed by architect Jean Nouvel. The simplistic gallery showcases 20th-century French design, featuring works by Jean Prouvé, Charlotte Perriand, Pierre Jeanneret, Le Corbusier and Jean Royère. We are equally awestruck every time we have the opportunity to swing by! Specialising in Jean Prouvé’s creations, the space boasts an extensive collection of his demountable houses – innovative, prefabricated structures exemplifying functional design. Patrick Seguin’s dedication to preserving and promoting these works has led to collaborations with esteemed institutions like the Centre Pompidou and MoMA. In recognition of his contributions, Seguin was appointed Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French Ministry of Culture in March 2018.

Galerie Paradis

In a former ceramics factory in Paris’ 10th arrondissement, Galerie Paradis is the kind of inspiring place that turns casual visitors into keen collectors. Founded by Nathalie Bucari, the 1,000-square-metre space showcases over 70 contemporary designers, 20th-century furniture and objects of popular art, all curated with a knack for storytelling. Bucari, who stumbled into design after selling her personal collection in a whirlwind ten days, is as passionate about the stories behind each piece as the pieces themselves. Spread over three levels, Galerie Paradis makes design accessible without losing its edge. And with Galerie Paradis offering bespoke sourcing, the gallery is setting a new standard for how we live with beautiful things. After all, why just browse when you can leave with a story – and maybe a Chapo chair?

Sceners Gallery

Housed in a Gustave Eiffel-designed building on Boulevard de Ménilmontant, Sceners Gallery weaves history into every detail. Founded by Jonathan Haddad and David Atlan, with creative direction by Olivier Leone, it brings together works by Rick Owens, Serge Mouille, and Charlotte Perriand. Light streams through an expansive glass roof, highlighting the raw textures of steel beams and carefully curated pieces. The gallery’s industrial framework contrasts with the precision of its exhibitions, creating an atmosphere that feels both grounded and thought-provoking. Sceners is a space to explore the connection between design and time, where architecture and artistry come together to spark curiosity and reflection.
