Pieve Aldina

What’s the hotel in a nutshell?

Pieve Aldina is a journey through time. Nestled in the heart of Tuscany, this former bishop’s complex dates back to the 12th century and is steeped in history. Named after Aldina Ubaldini, to whom it was gifted in 1043, the hotel comprises three ancient buildings, including the main building la Pieve, adjacent to the 10th-century Pieve di Santa Maria Novella church. The hotel’s architecture and interiors, designed by Pierattelli Architetture, reflect a blend of stylistic purity and contemporary taste. The rooms feature earthy colours, terracotta floors and wood fixtures, creating a serene and elegant ambience.

What are the rooms like?

Each of the 22 rooms at Pieve Aldina is a unique experience in itself, offering views of the surrounding Tuscan countryside. The room categories range from Superior, Deluxe and Junior Suites to more lavish options like the Signature Loft Suite and Signature Suite. The design ethos throughout is one of understated luxury, with a focus on local materials and a colour palette that echoes the natural surroundings. The attention to detail extends to the artworks too, with pieces by Parisian artist Dune Varela and Stéphanie Montaigu adding a sophisticated touch to the walls.
